FAQs

New Verison of Goji Play App

Registration

  • How do I register for the new version of the Goji Play app?
  • To register, download and launch the new version of the Goji Play app or the GojiVerse app.  You will be prompted to create a new account upon launching.  The username/password that you create will be used to login to all other Blue Goji apps.
  • Why do I need to create a new account?
  • Your new account creation allows for you to use the new version of the Goji Play app, as well as GojiVerse and other Blue Goji products.
  • Will my stats from my old account be transferred to my new account?
  • No, unfortunately we are not able to transfer your old account data into the new app.
  • Why do I have to create three different user IDs and what are the difference between User Name, Persona Name and Avatar Name?
  • We have adopted a rigorour three-tier identity scheme to protect your privacy when you use Goji Play, GojiVerse and our other products and services:
  • User Name - This is your unique ID for account login and, coupled with your password, will provide you with full access to your user account information.  This should not be your email address.
  • Persona Name (Screen Name) - This is your main identity within GojiVerse, which you will use to communicate with your friends and family within GojiVerse. This must be different than your User Name and your Avatar Name (below) to ensure enhanced privacy. Changing your Persona Name is not supported at this time.
  • Avatar Name - This is your anonymous identity, which you can use for certain public activities within GojiVerse.  For instance, we will use your Avatar Name when posting your Goji Play game scores on our public leaderboards. We also understand that some users may wish to remain anonymous when participating in certain sensitive activities, such as joining a stress management or substance abuse support community within GojiVerse. As a result, when you join certain GojiVerse communities, you may be asked whether you wish to use your Persona Name or your Avatar Name.To ensure the anonymity of your Avatar identity: (i) do not use anything similar to your User Name or Persona Name as your Avatar Name; (ii) do not share your User Name, Persona Name or other personally identifiable information when conducting activities under your Avatar Name; and (iii) do not share your Avatar Name with those that know your Persona identity. You may change your Avatar Name at anytime.
  • We recognize that it may seem confusing at first to maintain 3 different IDs, but we believe these features will provide our users with enhanced privacy when participating within GojiVerse.

Functionality

  • Why are some of the games that I enjoyed in the original version of the Goji Play app missing from the new version of the Goji Play app?
  • When Apple revamped its Bluetooth support for iOS 9 in September 2015, it meant that we had to update not only our Goji Play app but our entire suite of our games in order to be compatible with iOS 9.  We have since been working hard to update as many games as possible, especially your favorite games. However, since many of our original games were created by third party developers using older technologies, we will not be able to update all of our games. Separately, we have been working hard on a number of completely new and different games to add to the mix of updated games. Please refer to our Games page for our game release status.
  • Where are my stats located?
  • You can access your stats in GojiVerse.  Please refer to the GojiVerse section of the FAQ for additional details.

Goji Play Generation 2 Hardware

Functionality

  • Why is there no longer a sensor with Goji Play Generation 2 hardware?
  • The original version of the Goji Play hardware sensor module housed an accelerometer, which detected the movement of the player.  This accelerometer has been moved to the hand controllers in the new version of the Goji Play hardware to streamline the product.

Compatibility

    • Will Goji Play Generation 1 hardware work with the new version of the Goji Play app?
  • Yes, Goji Play Generation 1 hardware will still work with the new version of the Goji Play app and games.

Set Up

  • How do I set up Goji Play Generation 2 hardware?
  • Log into the app and select “Controllers and Set Up” from the side bar menu.  From there, choose “Setting up a new Goji Play?” and follow the instructions prompted in the set up tutorial. Please also see the Setup video at the top of this page, right above the FAQs.
  • Why do I need to specify my preferred setup?
  • Since the new hardware features Directional Pads, we need to know which way you have the sensors facing so that the game will know if you are moving the controller left or right.  You can make these decisions upon set up, and change at anytime by accessing “Preferences” from the side bar menu.

App Functionality

  • Why do some orbiting stars move closer and some farther away from my MeStar?
  • The stars that surround your central MeStar are communities/groups or friends. The more you interact with a community/group or friend, the closer that star’s orbit is to your star. If your interactions with a community/group or friend are not as regular, their orbit drifts farther away.
  • How do I find friends? How do I unfriend someone?
  • Click the sidebar menu button at the top left of the GojiVerse and click the “Friend” button just below the “Home” button. Search for a username or, adjust the drop-down menu and search for existing friends or communities/groups. To unfriend someone, adjust the drop-down menu to search for existing friends. Search for the friend and, on the right side of the friend’s name, click the unfriend button.
  • Why do my friends not show in my GojiVerse orbit?
  • After you friend someone or join a community, they will appear in your GojiVerse orbit. However, if you have not interacted with them in some time and there are other communities and friends that you interact with frequently, the others can eventually get pushed out of your orbit. To bring them back, search for them and click on their name. Post a note to them or high-five their recent activity to bring the friend or community back into your orbit.
  • How do I join a community? How do I leave a community/group?
  • Click the sidebar menu button at the top left of the GojiVerse and click the “Friend” button just below the “Home” button. Adjust the drop-down menu and search for communities. To leave a community, adjust the drop-down menu to search for communities. Search for the community and, on the right side of that cell, there is a button to leave it.
  • How do I change my emoji?
  • Click on your MeStar. Next, on your Me view, click the face next to your name. Here, you can adjust your emoji and tag yourself with an emotion. You may have to refresh GojiVerse in order for your change to appear.

  • What is the calendar?
  • The Calendar is your insight into your use history as a Blue Goji user. You can see your activity by date and by type, including calories burned, distance walked, etc.
  • How do I get to the calendar?
  • The calendar can be opened by tapping the calendar icon in your Me view or from the sidebar menu.
  • What are these green circles on my calendar?
  • The green circles represent a day, month of activity (depending on your selected filters).  Their size is indicative of your total exercise for a given activity or on a given day.  For example, when viewing the calendar by date, the green circles show the days you exercised; the larger the circle, the more you exercised.  When viewing by activity, you will see a green circle for each activity type (Goji Play, Walking, etc). The larger the circle, the more of that activity you have done.
  • How does filtering work?
  • You can view your calendar by Date, as a traditional calendar, or by Activity, which shows what exercise types you have done in the last period.  You can change this period to show the last month or the last year.  Additionally, you can look at previous years or months by selecting from the drop down in the upper right corner of the Calendar View.
