Goji Games ‘25 FAQ

General Questions

  • The Goji Games are a cardio esports tournament where athletes compete on Blue Goji bikes using the GojiPlay software, combining fitness, gaming, and friendly competition for nonprofit organizations.

  • Participation is open to athletes from nonprofit organizations that have Blue Goji bikes with GojiPlay software. There are four divisions: Youth, General Adult, Active Older Adult, and Staff.

  • Athletes compete in a series of qualifier challenges within their division and game. The top performers earn a spot in the live tournament.

  • The top 3 competitors or teams in each game/division win prize money for their organization, with a total of $210,000 available.

In each tournament (Game+Division) first place winners earn $10,000 in funding for their organization, second place earns $5,000 and third place earns $2,500.

*Please note, the prizes are donations made by Blue Goji CEO Coleman Fung to the organization, the money is not awarded to the athletes.

  • How to check if you qualify:

    • Is your organization a registered 501c3? (Can someone make a tax-deductible donation to your organization)

    • Does your organization have the Blue Goji bikes with GojiPlay software? How to know: When you log on the bike do you see games like Trail Run and Castle Kart?

If you answer yes to both of the above questions, then your organization qualifies and can compete in the Goji Games!

  • We recommend athletes play the games in qualifiers mode to get familiar with the challenges. Practice makes perfect!

  • Go Battle is a team-based game. Unlike the other games, the leaderboard is org-based, not individual, and will be measured by total time the org spends playing GoBattle during the qualifier period.

This year there are no restrictions how many athletes you need to play Go Battle.

  • Yes! However, the final game is live, so the number of qualifying spots depends on how many bikes your organization has.

For example, you might have 3 athletes that are really talented in GoBikes and they might play high on the qualifying leaderboard. If your organization only has one bike, then it will be impossible for all 3 athletes to compete in the 1 live game; so our system will only qualify 1 of your athletes on to the live tournament.

  • Blue Goji provides customer support, tutorials, and game guides to help your organization and athletes navigate the games and registration process.

On the live game day, we’ll have a zoom chat up and running to accommodate real time support issues.

Divisions

  • Once you declare a division for your account - you are locked into that division. If you accidentally signed up for the wrong division - we recommend creating a new account and register for the Goji Games under your intended division.

  • Yes! While we have a dedicated Active Older Adult (AOA) division for athletes 65+, we understand that some older adults may want access to more game options or prefer competing in the General Adult division. AOA athletes are welcome to participate in the General Adult division if they choose. Just make sure to declare your division when registering so you’re entered in the correct tournaments.

Once you select a division you are locked into that division.

  • Yes! Staff members are not required to compete in the Staff division. Especially if your organization has many staff participants, it can be strategic to spread out talent across divisions. Staff members may choose to compete in the General Adult or AOA divisions (whichever fits their age), but once a division is selected, they are locked into that division for all tournaments. Please note that only staff members may choose the Staff division—non-staff participants cannot compete in it.

  • A rider under the age of 18 must have parental consent when creating a Blue Goji rider account. If you’re experiencing issues with account setup - please email us at events@bluegoji.com and we’ll be happy to assist you swiftly!

  • To appear on the Solitaire leaderboard, you’ll need to earn the highest number of points. Some Solitaire game modes award more points than others—so try out the different versions to see which ones help you climb the ranks!

Even if you don’t complete a hand, you can still earn points toward the leaderboard. Just make sure to end your game so your score is saved and locked in.

Leaderboards

  • Each game has a different multiplayer capacity—in other words, the maximum number of athletes who can compete live at once.

When you see your name highlighted in blue on the leaderboard, that means you’re currently holding a qualifying spot for the live tournament. But remember—the leaderboards are dynamic and constantly changing. To secure your position, you’ll need to keep playing and improving your score until the qualifiers close at midnight on November 2nd.

  • Badges are special awards that recognize athletes for hitting a leaderboard goal—for example, reaching a milestone score, distance, or gameplay achievement.

It’s important to note that badges do not indicate qualification for the live tournament. Only athletes whose names are highlighted in blue on the leaderboard are currently in qualifying positions. Badges are simply a fun way to celebrate progress and keep riders motivated along the way.

Riders who earn a badge will be entered in a raffle to earn prizes at the end of the Goji Games (Goji Games gear, gift cards, etc.)
