Active Aging Week 2025
We’re gearing up for another incredible Active Aging Week Challenge, happening October 6–12, 2025, and we’re excited to announce that the prize categories introduced last year are officially returning!
After seeing how impactful and motivating they were in 2024, we’re continuing these prizes to celebrate more communities and individuals in creative, inclusive ways.
🏆 Most Miles – Community Champion
This one’s a classic: the community with the highest total miles pedaled during the week will take home a trophy and earn bragging rights as the 2025 Community Champion! Who can beat the 2024 reigning champs - Covenant Living at the Samarkand?
🚴♂️ Most Miles Per Bike – Small but Mighty Award
Introduced in 2024, this award levels the playing field for communities with fewer bikes. The Most Miles Per Bike trophy goes to the community that racks up the most mileage relative to how many bikes they have available. It’s not about quantity—it’s about commitment and strategy!
Last year, ACTS–Granite Farms Estates took home this trophy by pedaling an impressive 649 miles on just one bike—proving you don’t need a full fleet to go far.
Fred C., Winner for the Rider Spotlight of AAW 2024
👤 Top Rider Spotlight – Be the Inspiration
Also launched in 2024, this special recognition celebrates the individual rider with the most miles pedaled during the challenge. With permission, we turn their story into a custom Blue Goji challenge for the entire community to rally around.
In 2024, that rider was Fred Cornell, who pedaled a remarkable 292 miles during the week. His dedication sparked the “Ride Like Fred” challenge in May 2025, where over 4,500 riders participated—but only one person managed to match Fred’s incredible feat in just 7 days!
Don’t worry—if you’re the top rider and would prefer to stay behind the scenes, we’ll fully respect your privacy.
Why These Prizes Matter
We created these categories to make Active Aging Week more accessible, inclusive, and fun for everyone—no matter your community size or equipment availability. And based on the energy and engagement we saw last year, we’re thrilled to keep the momentum going.
Mark your calendars for October 6–12, and get ready to ride! Whether you're aiming for a trophy or just looking to stay active and have fun, we can't wait to see what you accomplish.
